The importer’s existing EU retail program demanded a lower landed cost and LFGB (German food-contact) compliance that the current supplier could not document. The rigid PP lids were also 30% overweight, pushing air-freight costs up. Requirements: LFGB-compliant LSR bodies, leak-proof seal validation (inverted 24h liquid test), lid redesign without losing sealing, and 3 sizes nesting into one shipping carton.
Our Solution
We supplied LFGB-certified platinum LSR bodies with reinforced rim geometry, re-engineered the lids with a thinner rib structure and integrated LSR gasket ring — cutting lid weight 30% while passing the inverted 24-hour leak test — and validated full EU 1935/2004 + LFGB documentation for the retail program.
