The seller’s previous supplier’s bowls split along the fold crease after ~2,000 uses, generating 1-star reviews and a rising return rate. For the Amazon US relaunch they required: FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 food-contact compliance, a 10,000-cycle fold endurance validation, no blank-glass odor, dishwasher safety, and a two-size set (small dog / large dog) shipping flat to cut FBA storage fees.
Our Solution
We redesigned the fold radius using tear-resistant food-grade platinum LSR and optimized wall thickness at the crease, validated 10,000 fold cycles on a robotic rig, ran FDA food-contact migration and dishwasher-cycle testing, and designed the bowls to fold to 18 mm for flat-pack FBA shipping.
