The Challenge
The brand’s incumbent bands caused sweat rash complaints in EU reviews — peroxide-cured silicone left byproducts that irritated skin during workouts, and colored bands faded after two weeks of UV and sunscreen exposure. Requirements: peroxide-free platinum LSR, ISO 10993-10 skin sensitization compliance, colorfastness to artificial sweat and UV per ISO 105 / ISO 4892, and a 12-color program with pantone matching.
Our Solution
We switched the compound to platinum-cured, peroxide-free LSR with skin-safe pigment masterbatch, validated ISO 10993-10 sensitization and ISO 105-E04 sweat colorfastness, ran ISO 4892 UV weathering for 500 hours, and set up a 12-color pantone-matched production program with in-mold color consistency control.
Results
- ✅ ISO 10993-10 skin sensitization passed; rash complaints eliminated
